Add a CommentAwesome Book! Very motivating. I am ripping out some of my grass already this summer, making a perennial bed and a vegetable bed. Can't wait to do more! Great essays by Rosalind Creasy and Michael Pollan, plus profiles of 3 US families that converted to Edible Estates front yards complete with designs and photos. A must read for folks looking to have the nerve to do something better with their own little plot of grass.
I love the concept, and will be advocating for frontyard gardens in Mundelein. I've asked the village just to make sure, and they gave me the green light. Starting mine this coming saturday!! There's another book with an intro from Fritz called "Edible Front Yard", and that book goes more into making an edible landscaped frontyard that looks more landscaped and decorative, and not so "I've got a garden in the front!" either way, Your land is your land.
