Unintentionally funny. Notice the train that never stops, you have to jump on while it goes by, like a Depression hobo. You could record a new comedy sound track for this and call it The Hungover Games.
The main idea of this movie is that teenagers hunt and kill each other in combat. Supposedly, there is famine and poverty and people are struggling to survive. I did not understand how these Tributes were treated to lavish buffet banquets with all you can eat food and drinks. In the movie, they also show the wealthy sponsors feasting on a large roasted pig. *****How can there be a famine if there are vast amounts of food available? Also, why do the poor and downtrodden put up with this garbage and they sheepishly send their sons and daughters to be slaughtered like lambs? Worst of all, this senseless campaign of butchery and murder is televised for people's entertainment. What is the purpose of the Hunger Games? Are the Hunger Games supposed to divert people's attention from their horrible living conditions? The movie said that the winning Tribute would be bathed in riches. Exactly how much money did Katniss and Peeta get for killing the other teenagers in this movie? I think this movie raised many questions that made me wonder about what story line is in the movie sequel.
A good movie, but I feel that it didn't quite capture the magic of the novel. I found it lacking Katniss's thoughts
Co-written and directed by Gary Ross in 2012 based on Suzanne Collins’s 2008 novel of the same name, this American SF drama depicts the adventure in a dystopian post-apocalyptic future in the nation of Panem.
Foolish and disgusting is an elaborate televised fight to the death.
It looks like a copy of the Japanese novel Battle Royale and its film adaptation.
I just don't like the story.
All the Hunger Games films in this series were brilliantly made, brilliantly directed.
I recently had a marathon on watching hunger games movies, and I loved every minute of it!!! It was so fun! I love all the movies!!! I want it to do it again soon! 😆
Pretty typical for the adaption of a popular YA novel. I appreciate the small scale of the budget and the Games themselves, compared to later books/movies. It works best here.
I think the hunger games is cool even though it’s pretty violent.
One of the few series of films I keep coming back to. Very true to the books and high quality productions.
I watched it again after a few years and I still like it. Well done. Not a big fan of the sequels though. Book is worth reading. More detail.
I LOVE EVERYTHING about this movie...the romance, the action, & the acting!!!
I recommend this movie series to adults. The Mockingjay is the main character. She is a teenager from a poor village. This is a love story. The script is about a dictatorship having an abundance of food while the poor are starving. The government oppresses the poor. Lots of violence happens. There is subtle sexual scenes. This movie is not good for children. For adults, it will be fast moving with lots of action. The script is the struggle for the poor to survive. The poor abused stand up for their rights. The Mockingjay is their beacon of courage to ask for change and dare to demand respect.
plot sometimes doesn't make any sense, still it is for me the best fantasy movie
This movie adaption of the classic novel didn’t disappoint me as a reader and left me wanting more. We follow Katniss, a resident in the poorest of the 12 districts doing everything she can to survive. Even if she needs to put her name countless more times in the pool for choosing players in the hunger games where 24 teens kill each other until one remains for the rich Capitol’s entertainment. Despite entering her name over 20 times more than her precious sister Prim’s, Prim gets chosen for the hunger games. Furious and panicked, Katniss volunteered herself and fights for her life not only in the hunger games but a life changing rebellion she sparked. This is such a unique concept that intrigued and surprised me, I have never really seen anything like it. This fictional world felt so real and struggles the people deal with are relatable to modern politics. Katniss and Peeta were a wonderful contrast in terms of character and complemented each other. Executed wonderfully. Rating:5/5

This was one of the best movies ever based on the three part book series in this series is shows the life of young katniss everdeen who lives is district 12 with her family. I’m not going to go into too much detail but, the thing that I liked most about this movie was the whole storyline and the place that the movie was filmed was very cool. My favourite part was when Katniss sings the hanging tree, and it was so beautiful. I would recommend this movie for an older audience because I think that they will understand it more. I rate this movie 5 out of 5 because I loved this movie so much, and I also watched it so many times.

This movie is based on the book by Suzanne Collins, set in a dystopian society divided into 13 districts all responsible for a certain job to serve the capital. Every year one male and one female aged 12-18 are chosen to fight to the death in an arena for the capital to watch. During the 74th Hunger Games, the protagonist Katniss Everdeen fights for her life. I would strongly recommend this movie because of the interesting storyline and unique cinematic presentation, the movie features a strong female lead which is empowering to young women everywhere.

The Hunger Games is a film on an interesting idea which when looked at literally can seem gruesome but through the lens of the author and director seem acceptable within that society. Casting doesn’t seem to be a problem for me especially since I didn’t end up reading the series of novels it was based off of. However even though I didn’t have any expectations prior to watching the film the acting seems decent although it was odd that people living in complete poverty could look as good as Jennifer Lawrence did at times. The movie itself portrays a social segregation of wealth classes gone to another level in which a teenager of each gender is chosen from each district (poor areas) and are pinned against each other in a televised battle to death which the rich enjoy watching. The whole premise of the film is already captivating as it brings up questions in our society and what we watch on tv and it brings up questions on where to draw the line on what is acceptable or not. I recommend this for a bit of a more mature audience as someone younger might not understand it as well. Overall the movie was done very well production wise, the acting was great as far as I know, and the movie did a good job at grabbing my attention. Overall I’d recommend watching the movie as it was very entertaining. 3.5/5 stars

I like this movie even though lots of people died. I am sad that some of the people I got attached to in the movie died. I like Katness and Peta a lot. They are both pretty smart. The Magic butterfly was a weird ending!
Highly over rated, predictable. A snooze fest. Read/watch Battle Royale (by a Japanese guy whose name I cannot spell. His novel was a masterpiece tho) or Long Walk by Stephen King (another masterpiece).
