The movie's plot is good but not well planned out and acted. It felt like a wash, rinse and repeat of the previous Bourne movies. Jeremy Renner is a good actor but they didn't give him much to work with. He did however keep the movie from being a complete flop.
The film, as its predecessors, is certainly dramatic, but it as the entire Bourne series paints a false narrative. The film producers totally ignored the source novel and made Bourne into anti-CIA propaganda.
The best Bourne yet. I loved Jeremy Renner and the supporting cast. Very entertaining.
This was a fun movie. It didn't have the same level of intensity that the other Bourne movies have, but Jeremy Remmer is great and the action scenes were well done.
The Bourne Legacy (which has nothing with the book except the name) is a decent film that takes place approximately the same time as the Bourne Ultimatum. Starring Jeremy Renner as Alex Cross, the film has a slow start but picks to a nice conclusion. Well worth it for Bourne fans, it has none of the shaky camera that made the previous film harder to watch.
This film is not bad, it is an average film that delivered on the action. The best part of this movie was Jeremy Renner. He redeemed a weak plot with his performance. The overall story and especially the ending was wanting.
Unlike the other Bourne films, this one relied on action along with weak plot and little suspense. The directors were off their rocker. Also, BRING MATT DAMON BACK!
This film is about a genetically-engineered agent named Aaron Cross who is wanted by members of government intelligence, Outcome, that want to erase all the evidence of their secret programs and the agents who were involved in it. Aaron Cross uses brute force and combat intelligence that helps him survive anything that comes his way so that he can reveal the truth about himself. He gets help from a doctor/scientist and they both find out the truth of who Aaron really is and discover the real threat they are encountering. Aaron Cross and the doctor/scientist are both wanted termination and they put the government intelligence, Outcome, on a wild hunt to find them. My opinion of this film was that I liked the action scenes and especially the protagonist, Aaron Cross who was a great protagonist throughout the whole movie. I liked how I saw Aaron Cross combine combat action with intelligence, as I was amazed on how he used it on his enemies and saw how he defeated his enemies using his surroundings. Action scenes were great such as vehicle chases as it provided adrenaline and suspense and also the fighting scenes where I saw the incredible combat skills of Aaron Cross. I would recommend this movie to watch because it is not hard to follow and it gives that action feel that you will experience if you watch this movie. Overall, it was a great movie to watch, it was worth my time, loved every action scene of Aaron Cross and would recommend this to be watched.
Very entertaining even without Matt Damon, Renner did a great job, action scenes were awesome. I don't understand the negative comments. All the actors did a great job. Very good movie.
I too loved Matt Damon, but this is an excellent addition to the story line.
Standard fare. I agree with Madreley: just not as good as the previous three.
A guy, i usually sneer at square jawed matinee-idol superhero types, but i must admit there's something about Matt Damon that's just likeable, makes one care what happens to his character. I just didn't care what happened to Aaron Cross, or his reluctant sidekick.
She was classic: the usual corrupt "just following orders" scientist who carefully avoids thinking about moral results and is just crushed that somebody as Pure as she could be persecuted! [Giggle.]
Anyway, another mediocre spy thriller. Formulaic.
The BOURNE LEGACY is directed and co-written by Tony Gilroy, who wrote and directed the refreshing thriller MICHAEL CLAYTON (2007). LEGACY is part of the high-quality Bourne franchise. In LEGACY we have Aaron Cross, played by Jeremy Renner, instead of Matt Damon as Jason Bourne. The secret government program is also different. The one Cross is member of is Operation Outcome, not Treadstone and Blackbriar, which were the black ops programs in the first three Bourne movies. Outcome is a supersoldier pilot project. Through a combination of drugs and viruses, Operation Outcome engineers genetic enhancements -- an increase in cellular efficiency -- making its operatives faster, stronger, smarter. Think an updated version of the Captain America origin tale. In this case instead of earnest scientists working to discover a supersoldier serum to combat the Axis powers, we have a sprawling, opaque national security state with overlapping secret programs spewing out beta versions of super-assassins. (The idea of a warrior made superior by increased energy production at the the cellular level can be found in another Marvel comic book character, the villain Zeke Stane from the pages of Matt Fraction's INVINCIBLE IRON MAN.) This movie has everything. It is a CALL OF THE WILD with missile-firing drones. It is a timely expose of our evil corporate national security state (Big Pharma in bed with high-ranking government intelligence officials). And it has a stupendous motorcycle chase in Manila. You even get the James Bond final scene -- the stud ends up with a beautiful, devoted woman on a boat on some exotic body of water. Cue the Moby theme song. Roll credits.
The movie is ok, I dont think it is as good as the other 3, but still entertaining. I thought that it ended rather abruptly and left the viewer hanging a little bit, but maybe they are setting you up for a sequel.
A super-human spy-agent goes rogue, again. Not quite as graphic as some earlier films, but featuring the same deja-vu moment that the agency is not in control. If I had a dollar for every time this guy should have died; you know the rest...
Cross comes across as totally gay, Weiss should have quit with the "mummy" flicks! Please try acting as an alternative lifestyle.
Good action movie. Lots of high speed chases and gun fights to get your blood pumping.
