Not most gripping of his works, enjoyed for the most part. Obligatory sex scene - birth control not mentioned at all, interesting, interesting too that main woman character consents to "romp" every now and then but does not want more -…

Boring and a book that was the worst Grisham book I have read. I love all of the books I have read which are most of them. I did finish the book but what a waste of time.

This looks like it might become a series, particularly the way it ends. I thought it took a while for the story line to develop, the book got better the deeper you read into it. Narrator was outstanding.

I was disappointed in the story line. The premise began intriguingly enough but by half way through the book I realized I did not like or care much about the protagonist. The information about the coal industry was grist for the mill but…

I had been looking forward to another Grisham thriller, instead it was, as previously stated, long and boring. He ranted on and on about the evils of coal companies. It was a political statement in the guise of a novel.

This novel is just a long and boring list of lawsuits with a weak , dispassionate, uninteresting main character as stated in another comment. Action was weak with too much PC.

This story is worth hearing; it flows, engages and certainly taught me a lot about the devastation of coal mining. I liked how it brings out the complexity of being poor in a rural region and how hard it can be for people to survive.

I disagree with the previous 2 reviews. It is a very typical Grisham story, although certainly not one of his best. It was however engaging and the story flowed nicely. I am not typically a fan of female narrators, but felt this was…

Gray Mountain was terrific. Great story, good characters and tightly written. 9 of 10 for me.

I agree with the previous review 100%. Yawn! Could this have been a ghost writer for John Grisham? Just didn’t even feel like his writing to me. I couldn't even finish the book.

Sad to write that this is by far my poorest Grisham to date. I listened to this novel and even narrator Catherine Taber's "often" word mispronouncing monotone delivery fits here. Unfortunately, even the predicable ending could not save…

This novel is just a long and boring list of lawsuits with a weak , dispassionate, uninteresting main character . What a disappointment! The narrator certainly does not help : a monotonous , tired tone of voice that will put you to sleep.…
