Unlike Scott and Shackleton, Amundsen took no photographer with him and there are only poor quality lantern slides remaining as visual records of his voyages. This book covers three expeditions - the NW Passage, the South Pole and the NE Passage. It describes Amundsen's meticulous planning and attention to detail which contributed to his success.
