The whole premise of this book just seemed ridiculous. After Clover’s father died, why would Clover’s extended family let someone who had only been her stepmother for a few hours have custody of her? There were just strange events in the book, like a woman confronting Clover’s stepmother in a grocery store parking lot just to accuse her of wanting to write a book. The jumps in time were disorienting, but even if the story had been told linearly it still wouldn’t make sense.
