Eco leads us through the woods of fictional narrative from Flaubert to Mickey Spillane and on the way we may discover Aramus and D'Artagnan, remember Casablanca or linger over his reminiscences and appreciate the translation of his writing. Another author, to me, whose words fall like pearls.
