Rate this:
John Drake was one of the best trick-shot performers in a traveling Wild West show, shooting clay pigeons and other targets held by his fiancee, Molly. Theirs was the featured act at the Hippodrome Theatre in Goldfield, Nevada, until the day when Drake's bullet missed - with tragic results. He left town and went off into the desert, trying to run away from all human contact and his memories. But the desert attracted many people who were hiding out, including Jack Shaw, a dangerous convict, who, along with his partners Huff and Longo, had recently escaped from the Nevada State Prison in Carson City. They had abducted a young Paiute woman named Henie and were holding her captive. Drake felt compelled to try to save her, with the help of Henie's brother, Tagee, even though they were outnumbered and overmatched. These days Drake had trouble forcing himself to shoot a rabbit for his own dinner, how could he be sure of his nerve?
