A decade ago, "The Bonfire of the Vanities" defined an era--and established Tom Wolfe as a major fiction chronicler of America at its most outrageous and alive. In his new novel, set in present-day Atlanta, Wolfe shows readers the disparate worlds of contemporary America, as he chronicles the story of an event that shatters the city's delicate racial balance. I love this book-- it is among my top 10 favorites! It's a great read and is also, to boot, life-changing.

None is better than Wolfe at capturing the lingo and style of contemporary America. In this long-awaited novel, he takes a satiric look at manhood and corporate power in the deep south of Atlanta, Georgia. A terrific read!
