I hadn't read this in the longest time and decided to revisit it. A fun book written by someone who clearly knows how boys play. I enjoyed it as much this time as I have in the past.

Behind Tom’s adventures in a small town on the Mississippi - from venturing into a nighttime graveyard with his friend Huck Finn, to tricking his friends into whitewashing a fence - are the difficult lessons to be learned about adult society.

For ages 9-12. Life is fun for Tom as he cleverly persuades his friends to do his work, attends his own funeral and hunts for buried treasure. Fun; that is, until he accidentally witnesses a murder.

Oh my gosh, I just loved this book!!!!! I'm a huge vocabulary fan, and the words using to describe all of the events in the book are priceless. Like seriously, I started using them, and sometimes my friends can't understand. Honestly, the real definitions are pretty lucid to fathom, and the language is so sumptuous, but sometimes it's strange to have all these big words to describe a child's adventures.
Other than that, I LOVED IT! So happy I got to read it - the storyline is a BIT all over the place, but that's what makes it so much like a child's mind.
