Emma is a newspaper reporter stuck with selling ads and writing obituaries for a financially strapped small-town newspaper in Puyallup, Washington. After she's spent weeks begging for a real story, the editor hands her a "plum" assignment. Three Washington State women are finalists in a national contest to find the best fruitcake in America. Harrison Oliver is hired to fly her around the state. Emma is petrified to fly in a small plane, but can't refuse the assignment. Harrison is a risk-taking flyboy with a devilish grin and a come-what-may attitude. Over the course of her assignment, Emma struggles not to fall in love with Harrison, and discovers there's a lot more to these women than fruitcake.
