I can say 'Amen' to the comments of the other reviewer. However, for me, it was something which I would thoroughly enjoy once, but could not listen through a second time.
"Ain't Gonna Hush!" is an enjoyable CD of lively, humorous, sexy, and soulful acoustic blues. I hadn't heard Saffire before, although the trio existed from 1987 to 2009. In 1992, one member left and another replaced her, so, by the time this CD was recorded, the three women on "Ain't Gonna Hush!" had worked together for nine years. All three sang and played guitar, and between them played harmonica, bass, mandolin, and fiddle as well. However, the fine singing and the late Ann Rabson's expressive piano playing dominate throughout.
According to their Wikipedia article: "Their music, both comedic and serious, tends to deal with feminist themes, which has made them popular outside of traditional blues circles." They''re seldom heavy-handed though, and many listeners who are not blues aficionados will enjoy Saffire. I'd certainly recommend "Ain't Gonna Hush!" to all blues fans who aren't fixated on guitar gymnastics.
