DeMille is to be highly recommended. Like his other novels, this one almost can't be put down. As for me, I'm putting another DeMille novel on hold.
My first Demille book and I'm already reading the next one. John Corey, the irreverent, witty and crude detective with his FBI agent wife try to foil the 'evil' Bain Madox who wants to eliminate the entire global Muslim world through a nuclear war.
The novel is a bit long and overextended and yet as 'a save the world' thriller, it has a rather unbelievable ending (but this is fiction, isn't it). Overall it is very readable, entertaining, suspenseful and fast paced.
A very good book. Anyone interested in a more political fiction type of thing - this is what you should read. It has humour, romance and also some intense parts which keep you hooked on it till the end!
Once again, DeMille does what he does best: shock, terrify, amuse and entertain in a "don't want to put it down" novel that resonates in today's world. He is the prince of plot and chief of character development. I give this one a 10.
