This is one of my favourite junior books. The adventures and characters are amazing.

A classic for all ages (12 to adult). A fictional account, but based on true stories, of several children who fled the Nazis and managed to survive on their own for years until the war ended. I appreciated that in the afterword the author tells us what actually happened to the children in his story.
