The Last Jihad
Paperback - 2006
Over 500,000 copies sold! The debut novel that became an explosive NYT bestseller! Released in the stunning days just after 9/11, this eerily prophetic novel predicted an attack on the U.S. and the war in Iraq . . . but was written before any of it happened. "One of the most entertaining and thought-provoking novelists of our day. Regardless of your political views, you've got to read his stuff." --Rush Limbaugh, radio host Jon Bennett and Erin McCoy are two of the shrewdest strategists on Wall Street and close friends of the president of the United States. Their secret project: a billion-dollar oil deal off the coast of Tel Aviv and Gaza that could form the basis of a historic peace treaty and bring enormous wealth to every Israeli and Palestinian. But nothing has prepared Jon or Erin for the terror that lies ahead. The book that started it all, The Last Jihad is the first of Joel C. Rosenberg's New York Times bestselling series, with 500,000 in print. The first page puts readers in the cockpit of a hijacked jet on a kamikaze mission into an American city--but it was written nine months before 9/11/2001. As the plot unfolds, White House advisors Jon Bennett and Erin McCoy are under attack in Jerusalem as the U.S. goes to war with Iraq over weapons of mass destruction--but The Last Jihad was published four months before the actual Iraq war began.

Add a CommentIf you like nonstop action, don't read this book. Just kidding!! This is one of the most intense books I've read. Tension is present from the first pages, and only becomes greater. Not only is The Last Jihad suspenseful, it seems as though it could be from tomorrow's headlines in its use of very possible situations. Joel Rosenberg is amazing!
Such a great book, hard to put down. Sad to see great reads like this dwindle down to just one or two copies at the library.
This book did not capture my interest although the opening chapters promised a good read. A good deal of the book deals with strategizing among American ruling politicians about how to handle an emerging situation in the Middle East...all talk no action here. Finally at the end of the book some action occurs, but the outcome is confusing as it is left hanging. Many characters and code names are introduced in this story. Therefore, picking this book up to read in snatches may be problematic.
(1st in a 5 book series) a political thriller; Jon
Bennett, Wall Street Strategist and good friend and former co-worker of the President of the United States in the year 2011 is embarking on a deal of a lifetime to bring the people of the Holy Land into the oil deal of the century. President MacPherson, a born again Christian, has loved and groomed Bennett for several years and now it?s time to see if he?s completely trustworthy.
(Rosenberg?s a Messanic Jew. I?ve heard him speak twice. He has an amazing story to tell of how he came to be an author!)
