A beautiful film.

The movie is in another language. Supposedly there was an option for English subtitles. I clicked subtitles on several times and it never worked. So didn't get to see it.

This film deserves 5 stars for its cinematography, contrasting the beautiful, bleak steppes with the soulless bleak horror of the city and industrial complex where the Chinese government forcibly relocates the nomadic peoples of the steppes to eradicate the national culture. The story is uniquely beautiful and sad and more than a little influenced by Jean Luc Godard.
