The Station Agent is a beautiful dramedy about isolation and unexpected friendships from writer/director Tom McCarthy (Spotlight, The Visitor, Win Win). It is also a celebration of trains. The comedy is subtle, and most of the light moments are provided by Bobby Cannavale's character or in reaction to his character. I highly recommend it for fans of independent films. If you prefer blockbusters, this movie may not have enough action for you. The Station Agent is rated R for language and some drug content.

Misfits bond in an unlikely situation and circumstance. When the lead character receives the sad windfall of a train station in near-rural New Jersey, he finds the locals are enthralled by him and intrude on his cherished privacy. Low-key charm adds to the story. Both Patricia Clarkson and Bobby Cannavale do well at playing off the main character. Cannavale, a native New Jerseyan, has the language and lingo down pat. He's especially funny as he keeps on trying despite getting rejected; still smilin' (except when he can't find a garlic press), he'll try another time and hey, can I bring ya a mornin' coffee from my food truck? Clarkson is one of my favorite actresses--if you like her here, also see the film, "Pieces of April".

Like many I see movies to visit places I haven't been and experience people outside my own circle of familiarity. I enjoyed this trip to rural New Jersey. I enjoy movies like this, where writers, directors and actors give us interesting individuals I haven't met and give them dignity, respect and an interesting backstory. For this one it also helps if you like trains.

This is a slow movie but this is a well acted movie.

Peter Dinklage is an undervalued actor and he was cast perfectly for this train flick. Patricia Clarkson is one of my favorite "older" actresses and she does not disappoint. I've never been a fan of Bobby Cannavale but I did warm up to him in this flick.

If you have a slow afternoon to watch a good movie, if you are a train buff, or if you like any of these actors, watch this precious film!

Three lonely people find friendship and connection in the wilds of New Jersey. The movie is a little slow, but the characters stick with you long after you're done watching. Actors Peter Dinklage, Bobby Cannavale, and Patricia Clarkson do a wonderful job.

If you haven't seen this movie, take a chance. My favorite movie of all time about the human condition, but in an unsentimental way. Peter Dinklage and Bobby Carnivale both stand out.

THREE LONELY STRANGE PEOPLE LONGING FOR FRIENDSHIP. HOW DID THE CANTEEN TRUCK MAKE ANY MONEY PARKED OUT IN THE BOONDOCKS?!!!!!!!!!!!!!
