I own this and have put tons of markings and post its in it. I haven't finished a novel but not for lack of advice from Donald Maass. It's an exciting book with lots of great advice and I recommend it. There is a separate workbook too.

Interesting read, even if you dont happen to be a writter. Maass writes about character development, plot structure, and many other bits that go into the craft of writting and publishing.
