Add a CommentLoved this movie and watched it twice (with subtitles ON). What a difference a Dad makes, eh? I can't decide what kind of movie this is...drama, comedy, fantasy. Loved it. Loved Eric Cantona. Loved that the bully gets it. Thought everything was true to characters and I liked the realistic and hopeful vibe throughout the movie. The script is not predictable in any way so it was really enjoyable, especially if you are familiar with British films and culture.
Grungy, pointless vulgar language, can't see why the library would buy 5 copies of this
drama - just never got hooked by this one. deals w/romance, bromance, sports and life.
I love Man United, and I love Eric Cantona, so why didn't I love this film? The answer probably lies in some dubious acting that would have seemed more appropriate on Coronation Street, and a run time that probably stretched the film 15 minutes beyond the necessary. Cantona was great, of course- too bad there wasn't more of him!
