The extraordinary new adventure from the #1 New York Times - bestselling author.

Jungles come in many forms. There are the steamy rain forests of the Burmese highlands. There are the lies and betrayals of the world of covert operations. And there are the dark and twisted thoughts of a man bent on near-global domination. To pull off their latest mission, Juan Cabrillo and the crew of the Oregon must survive them all.

A devastating new weapon unleashed in thirteenth-century China...a daring rescue in the snowbound mountains along the Afghanistan/Pakistan border...a woman gone missing in the jungles of northern Thailand and Myanmar...for Cabrillo and his crew, all of these events will come together-leading to the greatest threat against U.S. security that the world has ever known.

More of the same stuff from Cussler, or his ghost writers. Incredible escapes, indomitable men, who never miss a shot, and never suffer much more than a scratch. Superhuman women, always beautiful, who can take down men twice their weight and size with one blow. Get ready to suspend belief.

My first Clive Cussler Book. The Jungle is entertaining though not as realistic. It's like a Vince Flynn novel on steroids.

This was a great page turner - I think I finished it in 4-5 days (which meant some late nights). As all of the Oregon stories it is definitely implausible and the biggest issue I found that drove me nuts was how they seemed to be able to move their boat around the world with very little time. However, if you are able to turn off that part of your brain it is a fun read.

A fairly typical Clive Cussler pot boiler. His writing improved a few years ago when he began taking on unknown 'co-authors' to write his novels for him so as to have their names in the hat to become best seller authors in their own right. This one's okay, more-or-less. Maybe the less is the part Cussler insisted on, or attempted to write himself.

My favourite series of Cussler's is the Oregon Files at the moment.

This Jungle is another excellent continuation. As with all Cussler books there are implausibilities, however they are infrequent enough and there is plenty of action to make this a truly great read.

Really good for anyone looking for a fast paced action read.

I am many things, but a man who backs out on his word isn't one of them.
