When Eddie Reeves' father commits suicide her life is consumed by the nagging question of why? Why when he was a legendary photographer and a brilliant teacher? Why when he seemed to find inspiration in everything he saw? And, most importantly, why when he had a daughter who loved him more than anyone else in the world? When she meets Culler Evans, former student of her father's and a photographer himself, an instant and dangerous attraction begins. He seems to know more about her father than she does and could possibly hold the key to the mystery surrounding his death. But Eddie's vulnerability has weakened her and Culler Evans is getting too close. Her need for the truth keeps her hanging on...but some questions may be left unanswered.

I have to compare this novel to the Twilight books - one girl, two boys and a relationship that doesn't happen until the very end. Thankfully, it's only 230 pages, and not 4 books. It's an alright read.

I truly enjoyed this book. Definitely a serious topic though. To be honest, I did cry through some parts but the story lived on raw emotion. Really love this author. :)

Definitely a more serious book, not too much humour in it. And kind of a depressing one too (just a warning in case someone would prefer a lighter read). It was well written though, but I do agree that the ending could have been summed up better.

This was not up to the standards of her previous books. I was really hoping for a more developed ending, for someone who can write so well I was really expecting to be a little more surprised. Overall good plot, and good in theory but it didn't live up to expectations.

When Eddie's father commits suicide all she can ask is why? Along comes a stranger, a former student, that had a connection to her father and she thinks he is someone who can share her pain. However, her grief makes her blind to his ulterior motive and she allows him to lead her along. A quick read about losing someone you love and trying anything to hold on to their memory.

Third novel from Courtney Summers, "one of the sharpest and hardest-hitting of Canada's writers about high school life."
