Tommy Best, a prominent British philanthropist, is found drowned in the dockyards of London. His guide dog Suzy is missing. Ned Bale is the investigator of the case and there are many puzzles in this case. The victim, an elderly gentleman, had withdrawn over 1,000 pounds that evening from a bank machine, and the money was not found on his body. What was he doing walking on the older walkway of the dockyards which resulted in his fatal fall through a hole in the planking? A brothel and a secret society also are featured in this intriguing “whodunnit”. This is a first novel for Lewis who is an award-winning screen writer, and as I was reading this gripping tale I could imagine the scenes played out on a movie screen.
For your consideration: some explicit descriptions of sexual brutality with minors.

I found this one just didn't hold my interest and in the end I gave up. Something about the way it was written I think, too slow to come to the point.
