A romance novel with a slight sprinkling of intrigue. I enjoyed the setting, though the parade of sex and sexuality in its various forms began to get tiring. I liked Lucky's spunk... for the most part. Her fast quips began as cute but then the constant wisecracking started to wear out its welcome as the story moved on. The book begins with a startling event but never builds on that tension. Boring trumped romance.

This is the first book in the "Lucky O’Toole" series. I really enjoyed it and I’m really looking forward to the next one. Lucky is the chief problem-solver at a top ranked Las Vegas casino/hotel. The book is part chick-lit, part mystery, part romance and all fun. It was fast paced from the very beginning and stayed that way until the end. I loved Lucky and all the insane, chaotic and wicked situations she had to fix. Pure delight.

#1 in the series. Good protagonist, but there is a bit too much romance for mystery purists. Pretty sharp, though.

I didn't want to fall in love - I wanted to be in control.
