This book has some good to offer but the "looks" in it are not even thrift shop display window worthy. I agree with leensbo as the pictures of the clothes are rather ugly but you could still draw some inspiration from this book in certain segments.
This book makes sewing very approachable for beginners (like me) and there are some genuinely good ideas to get you thinking and doing with little fuss. Unfortunately the photos of the projects in this book aren't particularly inspiring in that the clothes look look...well...bad. Like, kind of ugly (personal opinion). If you can ignore the photos a bit and adapt the ideas with your own aesthetic sense, then there's a lot that this book can offer.
Warning: this book sparked a weekend of diy mania. Some of the projects are a bit "kitschy" but the basic techniques of cutting old t-shirts and sweaters are great ways to re-purpose clothes to create one-of-a-kind fashion.
