Summary
Add a SummaryNo one believes in vampires... but Cat Crawfield knows better. She's been hunting them for the last 6 years, ever since learning her father is a vampire, a monster who raped her mother. Cat hunts partially to appease her mother, who fears Cat's unusual abilities. But then Cat meets Bones....
Bones isn't like the other vampires. Although he is a master vampire, he doesn't want to kill Cat or even stop her from killing other vampires. Instead, he has a proposition for Cat: work with him to kill specific vampires and he'll teach her all he knows. Will Cat be able to overcome her prejudices long enough to work with Bones?
Cat is a spunky heroine, dedicated to avenging her mother. She doesn't want to like Bones, or any other vampire for that matter. After all, her mother has drilled into her head just how evil vampires are... and just how evil the vampire half of Cat is. Killing vampires is the only way she can redeem herself, or is it?

I can't understand why this book got such good reviews. I'm a huge fan of urban fantasy - Patricia Briggs, Ilona Andrews, for example, but this book was so cheesy and predictable. Ugh. I actually hated it.
Fun, witty and humorous, Halfway to the Grave features a half-vampire heroine who hunts vampires for revenge and her growing desire for the British master vampire who is training her to be a better hunter. The book was good for a paranormal romance, but it was too cheesy for me to take too seriously.
My only complaint is that the books should be read in order and are not clearly numbered. Jeanine Frost is one of my favorite paranormal adventure writers. Interesting characters, fast pace, good plot twists, a page turner. Warning: You may lose sleep reading.
Could not put this book down! It is a great read that I have read over and over. Love this whole series. Jeaniene Frost is an amazing author!
I laughed, I cried, I lusted! This book took my breath away, and I started the second in this series straight away, this is a story I don't want to put down or put away!
Hard to decide between a 3 or 4 star because it's in between imho. I really enjoyed the fun action but it was an easy read. Satisfying plot for a 1st in the series. I enjoyed Cat and Bones and will continue with the series.
Loved this book, couldn't put it down. Lots of steamy romance, nicely written characters and well written fight scenes
This book/series is an absolute must read! Each book ended up being on of those "I just can't put it down" types and I absolutely love Cat and Bones!! Great read, lots of detail and leaves you wanting more at the end.
Sweet young protegee falls for seductive master vampire. They have lots of adventures and sex.
The novel strives for fun and action, but doesn't quite hit the mark.
