You may think British food is uninspiring, but I bet you will find a recipe in here to change your mind. Many serve a relatively large group, so roll up your sleeves, invite your friends round, and get stuck in to some tasty meals!

Such a fun cookbook with lots of pictures and stories about the recipes. Some recipes are more complicated than others but I picked some out to try.

Contains some great recipes and a nice breezy style, but like most pf Oliver's books, this volume is meant for reading not using. The only way to execute hiis recipes without mounting frustration is to transcribe them into an easier to follow format. 8 out of 10 for content. 3 out of 10 for effective recipe and book design.

The aftermath of Olympic-inspired "British Fever" seems the perfect time for Jamie Oliver to have released his newest cookbook, "Jamie Oliver's Great Britain." Although the country has an unappealing culinary reputation featuring tough meat and grey-ish vegetables, this book dispels stereotypes and indeed contains some of the most mouth-watering recipes in all of Oliver's impressive collection.

At 416 pages, "Great Britain" meticulously chronicles Oliver's search through Britain for the best recipes and most profound inspiration. The gorgeous photos showcase not just the food, but also the people and scenery of the country. Using a graphic, scrapbook-like style, Oliver makes his country look beautiful, inviting and rich in culinary tradition.

Each recipe begins with a heartfelt introduction and contains easy-to-follow instructions (although multi-coloured fonts sometimes make the text hard to read). Traditional chapters include classics like steak & kidney pie and cornish pasties; others explore international influences. Oliver even writes a chapter called "Afternoon Tea," which features sour cranberry bakewell and Nan's St. Clement's Cake.

A thoroughly enjoyable read about Jamie Oliver's adventures in Britain and the country's culture.
