Frightening or Intense Scenes: Numerous potentially upsetting scenes. Horses face neglect and succumb to exhaustion. Sympathetic characters die (offscreen, but emotional). A family has fights and a young man places himself between his horse and a gun.
Other: btw the horse is fake. Someone is controlling it. Watch the special features.
Violence: War violence in the ending of the movie, pretty hard core stuff, but not crazy bloody or anything, just very realistic.

1st guy:"What do you think of my new cap? Silk lining, I quite like it."
2nd guy:"I'm not sure it will make a lot of difference to the Germans."
1st:"Oh, I don't know about that, think about it. If your a Bosch and you have to choose which two caps you have to choose and you thought, Good lord, one of them is really wearing a very styish cap indeed. I think I am going to shoot the other one instead."
2nd""Or he might relatively think, I fancy that cap, I'm going to kill you first of all."
1st:"Hadn't really thought of that."
"We'll be alright Joey. We're the lucky ones, you and me. Lucky since the day I met you" -Albert Narracott
(Joey has just been freed from being ensnared in barbed wire in No-Man's Land, by both a British and a German soldier, during a mini-truce) British soldier: "Look at that horse! Look at the muscles he's got! Them long legs! They're made for runnin', horses. Runnin' away from danger." German soldier: "Running away's all they have." British soldier: "And yet, we taught them opposite... Runnin' into the frey..." German soldier: "War horse." British soldier: "...War horse..."
