My name--my True Name--is Ashallayn'darkmyr Tallyn. I am the last remaining son of Mab, Queen of the Unseelie Court. And I am dead to her. My fall began, as many stories do, with a girl...

To cold faery prince Ash, love was a weakness for mortals and fools. His own love had died a horrible death, killing any gentler feelings the Winter prince might have had. Or so he thought.

Then Meghan Chase--a half human, half fey slip of a girl--smashed through his barricades, binding him to her irrevocably with his oath to be her knight. And when all of Faery nearly fell to the Iron fey, she severed their bond to save his life. Meghan is now the Iron Queen, ruler of a realm where no Winter or Summer fey can survive.

With the unwelcome company of his archrival, Summer Court prankster Puck, and the infuriating cait sith Grimalkin, Ash begins a journey he is bound to see through to its end--a quest to find a way to honor his vow to stand by Meghan's side.

To survive in the Iron Realm, Ash must have a soul and a mortal body. But the tests he must face to earn these things are impossible. And along the way Ash learns something that changes everything. A truth that challenges his darkest beliefs and shows him that, sometimes, it takes more than courage to make the ultimate sacrifice.

I love this book! But, it's so sad. I hope they will get "The Iron Traitor" the book, "Winter's Passage", "Summer's Crossing", "Iron's Prophecy", and then "Iron Legends"! :)

Prince Ash FTW! I loved the ending. I am really happy Julie Jagawa chose to put them together in the end (I would be crushed if they never got back together)

This book had a different feel than the other three, but it was still very good, with a couple mind-boggling twists. I liked it a lot, and fell in love with the ending.

For the people who are going to read this book and checking out the comments first; WHEN IT GETS SAD KEEP READING! I almost quit the book because it got really sad, but it got better right after the chapter. It was a great book. I wish it had more of Meghan in it. Or it had Areilla explaining things to Meghan in her dreams. And when Ash goes back to the Iron Realm that Meghan and Areilla are good freinds and Meghan is sad hearing that Areilla died but is happy that she died so Ash could come back to her. But it was a great book. Can you believer that the Iron Fey was only supposed to be a trilogy but Julie's editor told her that her fans wouldn't be happy until Meghan and Ash were back together? I'm glad he did.

Not as good as the rest in the series. This story centers on Ash and his quest, and it really misses having Meghan Chase.

There were so many incredible "I did NOT see that coming!" twists, that were here. I will say that is was wonamazing. I was wonderful to read a story from Ash's perspective. The unseelie prince has a lot more depth that you realize from the previous books. Watching him struggle to make hard decisions, and seeing just how much he loves Megan made me root for him all the more. And Puck, ever the joke cracking prankster showed a bit of vulnerability as well. This was a great end to the Iron Fey Series. Reading the last page will leave you sad that there will be no more adventures, but it will also leave you at peace that you know how everything turns out.
