Nancy joins Peanuts and Popeye at Fantagraphics! Nancy Volume 1, the first in an ongoing series, collects every dailystrip of Ernie Bushmiller's hyper-stylized, nearly abstract comic from 1942-1945in a fat, square format (designed by the award-winning Jacob Covey). It includesa biography of Bushmiller and many more extras. The zen-like Nancy is thedistillation of a newspaper comic strip, so much so that it illustrates the"comic strip" entry in the American HeritageDictionary .

Ernie Bushmiller's masterful and quintessential gag strip. Nancy and Sluggo (and Aunt Fritzi) do their thing for 3 years of dailies.
