This movie was extremely hilarious. It's about a man named Jack McCall portrayed by Eddie Murphy who tells a spiritual guru his book is bogus puts a curse on him. When every time he says a word leaves would fall off the tree. He only had a thousand words to say before all the leaves on the tree fell off and then he was a goner. His wife played by the talented Kerry Washington tries to understand what he's was trying to say but couldn't get a thing out of him. So Jack goes around apologizing to people and trying to get his assistant to help him out. In the end the leaves do fall from the tree. But Jack doesn't die. He turns things around buy buying his family a new house, promotes his assistant to manager, and tries to be careful about what and what not to say around people.

Murphy is one of my favorite actors. He is a born comedian and, like with Walter Matthau, just looking at him makes me laugh. His facial mannerisms are absolutely fascinating and so very funny. This most definitely not a PG 13 not only because of the age inappropriate elements (lots of profanity, some controversial issues, sexual innuendo, even a short scene with bdsm), but because when Jack McCall goes into a self-discovering moment, kids would not grasp the meaning of what is happening. Cliff Curtis is fantastic as Dr. Sinja. And Clark Duke is a riot as his very patient and dedicated assistant Aaron. Make sure you watch the deleted scenes also.

This movie wasn't hilarious but some parts were funny. This movie was ok.

This would have been a half-star if it wasn't for the last half hour. Murphy's time as a star has come and gone. Let it go.

It was a really good and funny movie but thus had a moral to it and that is use your words wisely. Take the time to stop before you speak because it could be your last words.

Don't let the words you use be vain, choose them wisely.
