Besides producing most of the greatest hockey players in the world and some of the funniest comedians, Canada is well known as the home of gifted singer-songwriters, including Ian and Sylvia, Leonard Cohen, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, The Band, Steppenwolf, The Guess Who, Gordon Lightfoot, Rush, Barenaked Ladies, Shania Twain, and Alanis Morissette, among others. TRIVIA The brain may die, but the compulsion for trivia lives on. Molly Harper Every song has a story, and in some cases, the stories told about the genesis and enduring appeal of the song are as enjoyable as the song itself.
