"The Noble Art" is certainly above the characters in this episode. A father is gambling away the assets of the family. He has a son who is gay. The gay son marries a woman, whatever for, but now she is pregnant by the father. The father bets the family estate on a boxing match, which he loses. Barnaby has been friends with him for years and just can't believe the father could be involved with three murders. He's guilty. Ironically the boxing match he lost the estate on is going to be declared null and void because the fighter cheated on drugs. No point in killing anyone. The British never seem to come up with a good family when there is money involved.
