This was an excellent book that handled abuse, behavior problems and love of family in a unique way. It grabbed my attention the whole time with topic of select mutism, the power of good teachers and friendship.

Delly Pattison learns about friendship and truth as she grows beyond impulsive behavior and begins to consider others during her twelfth year. Delly is helped along by family members and friends who appreciate her lively antics yet encourage her to stop to think. Friendship, loyalty and trust are explored in a humorous story with a serious side to it.
