Normally I find Hilderbrand's novels a nice escape, but this book was just annoying - that controlling notebook irked me to no end. What adult child would slavishly obey her mother's every command? And, more importantly, what kind of loving mother would inflict such specific instructions on her child?
a very good read
A page turner of a family saga.
I would consider this to be the perfect summer beach read. The setting is Nantucket Island. There is an impending wedding, with the details dictated by the diary of the bride's dead mother. Family secrets and wedding drama ensues. The story was hilarious and heartfelt. Made me want to take a trip to Nantucket.
This was my first introduction to Elin Hilderbrand and I loved it. I have since read Summerland and Matchmaker, and of the three, I definitely enjoyed Beautiful Day the best.
The book was okay – but not one of my favorites.
What is with these phrases in 2013???
"wild Indians" and "Indian Giver".
I would hope the author knows better but guess not.
Just finished reading this book and I have to say, it was not as enjoyable as her other books. I found it superficial and tedious.
yes I agree, was not as enjoyable and I also found myself skimming through some, had the makings of a good book just too much al over the place, guess I'll wait for the next one
not enjoying this book as much as her other books
Skimming through a lot of the story
