This movie seriously lacked in movie. I fast forwarded through the first 57 minutes before shutting it off, because it was just a waste of time. With the cast that it has, I was expecting so much more. Some dialogue and conversation between the characters and acting would have been really nice.

Is anybody else out there much happier with the depiction of heaven at the end of this film than the stupid one at the end of Tree of Life? with all those people walking around on the beach? I know I am.
Some films- you can forgive anything if the ending is astonishing, even if it's just a last second blaze of light. Of course, in this film, there's not much to forgive

Beautifully filmed. Minimal spoken dialogue which at times can be frustrating as it puts the burden on the viewers to interpret the story while being kept in suspense. More like ballet wherein the viewers interpret the dancers’ movements and gestures. Excellent performances. Highly recommend viewing the commentaries and interviews found in the special features section of the DVD - from these commentaries and interviews one gets a clearer understanding of the story line, the characters, and why the spoken dialogue is mostly suppressed.

Wish I'd read the reviews and saved myself the disappointment.

Hardly any dialog and almost no communication between the "characters". Very bizarre.

It's like an excruciatingly long Calvin Klein commercial; you get to look at pretty people and scenery but that's about it. Literally.

If you like that kind of thing you might like it. Very "moody" and dramatic and boring!

Using "artsy" as a derogatory term doesn't really make sense. Leave it to the narrow-minded ORL "reviewers" to completely misinterpret on of Terrence's finest films

Really awful. Like a compilation of the worst of the worst of French cinema.

I should have seen the negative reviews earlier; that would have saved me the 15 minutes I wasted before turning off this movie.

This movie was so terrible, it made no real sense and was all about being artistic, but failed huge on story telling. Olga was stunning, and only reason I fought not fast forwarding the movie. I felt at times it was my kids playing SIM's game, because in those games the charachters also mumble and you don't actually understand what they say like many scenes in this movie! There was one part that made me laugh, (the scene wasn't meant to), but showed just how stupid it was. Olga charachter was talking to her best friend, and it has the subtitles below for us to read along. The friend is talking to her in Italian, and Olga is speaking in French back to her, and they carry a conversation, all with subtitles?!! What is that all about? LOL!
