It is pitch black, and Tempe is trapped in a frigid, tiny space. Trying to piece things together, she remembers accompanying the bones of a wealthy heiress to the Chicago morgue. A phone call was made, and Tempe was accused of mishandling the autopsy. The, two more women's bodies were discovered. But how did she end up imprisoned? Confused and scared, she knows only that someone, possibly a colleague, is hell-bent on destroying her.

I am a huge fan of the TV show Bones. I have never read a book by Kathy Reichs. I don't think I'll read more.
This book has a very grumpy Temperance Brennan. There's something quite dislikable about her throughout. She's angry, she complains, she hardly has anything nice to say.
There were various mysteries but the "real time" one was easy to figure out by anyone, except Temperance and Ryan, it seems.
The murder mysteries were convoluted and, frankly, boring.
The writing was poor. Winds "skulked" down streets, for example. Sigh.....

Not one of her best but still enjoyable

Really interesting! Lots of science, less about relationships as in her previous titles. A good book to listen to on audio!
