Mrs. Jane Tabby doesn't know why her four very special kittens were born with wings, but those wings let them fly off to have adventures. Just imagine it, kittens with wings! If you are a cat lover, if you like adventure stories, and especially if both sound like fun, I am sure you will want to get to know these amazing cats. If you enjoy their adventures the great news is that there are other books in the series.

My 8-year-old self could not get enough of this series!

This is a tragic story of kittens born with wings. Let your children read it with caution. You might want to read it first.

Here is something special for cat lovers: a book about winged kittens! Though the book is a short, quick read, Ursula Le Guin's nuanced writing and sophisticated vocabulary elevate it far above ordinary "beginner chapter books." The delicate illustrations are lovely and add a lot to the book. All the members of our family, young and old, loved this one.

This book ages surprisingly well. I guess I should expect no less from Le Guin, but still, I'm glad that my poor little heart, which has never given up on the dream of being a cat with wings, can re-read this book and be delighted, still, in 2018.

Catwings is very unrealistic, in a good way. When the cats with wings leave, it's not very dramatic, and not very regular. Also the creatures in this book can talk and when they talk, they use emotion.

Ursula K. Le Guin wrote a story about cats. A story about cats with wings. 'Nuff said.

A cute little book about four kittens who are born with wings. They start life in the city, but when that becomes dangerous their mother sends them off to find better living conditions. Luckily they know how to fly, though they have never spent much time in the air. There isn't much rising action, or fear for the characters, so this would be a good book for a reader who wants a chapter book, but not one that will scare them. This one is the first in a series of four books.

All of the catwings tales were highly enjoyable. I was particularly amused by the offense the critters cats hunt took to find cats with wings chasing them.

Mrs. Jane Tabby has delivered four kittens with wings and what wonderful adventures these four have! This is such a fun fantasy for children in Grade 3-4 to read. Sweetly illustrated by S. D. Schindler. I wish I had a cat with wings.
