Features research on animals, including whether they can plan, whether dogs can "smell time" (actually, they keep time by odor concentrations) and more. Animal lovers will enjoy this.

This is a 2014 documentary produced for "NOVA Science Now" by PBS.
It has three episodes:
1) Bird Genius
2) Dogs & Super Senses
3) Who's the Smartest?
It is a fascinating, gripping and thought-provoking documentary.

Not really up to the usual high standards of PBS and Nova, this series looks at the concepts of intelligence in various animals, including problem solving abilities, communication, and socialization.

Sorry to report that this video is just more dumbed-down 'gosh, golly, gee-whiz' science-lite programming, courtesy of David Koch, of course. I could only get through part one on bird intelligence, which was about 5-8 minutes of information and video footage repeated and recapitulated several times without any amazing scientific analysis attached. A precocious 7 year-old would get bored with this production.
