Number one point to cover is that Whole30 is an elimination diet for a short period of time. The book covered two areas. First, the authors explain their interpretation of the science of nutrition in a very easy to understand manner. Second, they talk about their 30 day program of nutrition that eliminates foods they deem potentially harmful. It is not Paleo. For example, Paleo allows honey. During the Whole 30 day period, no honey or sugars except those in fruit. Basically, you eat only unprocessed food.

I followed the Whole30 day program. It is an interesting exercise. I recommend reading the book, committing 30 days of your life, and getting a glimpse into how certain foods affect your body.

If you are someone who needs evidence for WHY to change your eating habits, this is a great book with answers to a lot of the WHYs. I also love that they give a structure for a 30 day challenge to encourage a full immersion into this way of eating, than provide ways to integrate other foods back into your diet.

The first half teaching about nutrition, is very interesting and presented in a way anyone can understand it. I did not real the Whole30 portion in the second half, because I am not interested in their diet (or lifestyle as they suggest). I have my own thing I am doing, but they did enlighten me on some food details I had not known from my other nutritional readings.

A great book with scientific evidence about the Paleo way of eating. I ate Paleo last year and felt the best I'd ever felt (and lost 35 lbs to boot). I swayed away from the way of eating, but am ready to return (and stay) with this way of eating. To anyone who would like to know WHY the "Clean" way of eating is best for our bodies, this is the book for you.
