When Jack - an ordinary sparrow with dreams of becoming an extraordinary bird - is accidentally covered in colorful paint, he is thrilled about his new exotic appearance and believes that he'll now be able to impress Aurora, a beautiful canary who has recently escaped from her indoor cage. But when Aurora's mean owner, Mr. Potter, finds her, Jack must enlist the help of his best friends - Vinne, the loyal pigeon, and Skeeter, the hyper hummingbirg - as well as Rosie the caring bat and the wise Old Buzzard in order to free her. And along the way, Jack and Aurora will learn that it's not what you look like on the outside but who you are on the inside that truly counts.

I like this cartoon DVD. It is good for all ages. Somethings may be scary for the very young such as when the hawk wants to eat the sparrow. The sparrow, Jack, is the main character. He wants to be unique so he can become the center of attention. He wants extreme external confirmation from the world and the opposite gender. He thinks he is a Don Quon. He has his friends who tolerate his imperfections. The sparrow chases every female bird regardless of what breed they are. This is not realistic. A sparrow can only mate with a sparrow. The sparrow befriends a canary female who has escaped from her cage. Everything is new and scary for her. Jack helps her get used the changes and offers support. She helps Jack accept himself. He learns to be happy to be a sparrow.
