"Food as medicine" is a powerfully healing way to eat and was embraced by nutritionist Jennifer Adler as she recovered from a malnourished and sickly childhood and adolescence. Part power foods cookbook, part guidebook for healthy living and eating, and part memoir, Passionate Nutrition provides digestible information, tips, and techniques for how to achieve optimal health. She focuses on abundant eating (as opposed to restrictive eating), and explores what she calls "the healthy trinity" of digestion, balance, and whole foods. She guides and encourages readers to shift their diet to achieve this desirable balance, introduces power foods we should all eat, and provides healthy ways to lose weight, along with simple recipes to optimize best health. With her personal story interwoven, readers will be inspired to embrace the healthy power of food"--Provided by publisher.

Very thought provoking! Imagine using food instead of pills to heal yourself as well as reach the perfect weight for just you and totally transform your life!

Listening to what your body is telling it to eat, then feeding it instead of starving it of the very foods it needs like butter, red meat, carbs, etc., makes a lot of since to me.

Author's story is also an amazing journey. I kept going back to the cover photo and saying to myself "is this the same person".

My sister suggested I read this book because of my digestive issues. I'm glad she did!

Says most diets are not good but not sure there is enough guidance for most people as exactly what to do.
