These poems are so lovely and speak to the difficulties and fruitfulness of having a gratitude practice. The poems on love were fabulous.

Mary Oliver writes about nature and the human heart with equal grace.

I decided recently that I want to read more poetry, and considering I'm a big ol' novice, Mary Oliver seemed like a solid starting place. And I liked this one... but not deeply. I wasn't blown away and I really wanted to be, and actually, really NEED to be with poetry. I'll keep trying, though, because if she has more poems that I'll love as much as I loved, "Everything That Was Broken," it's totally worth it.

Worth sitting with for a while though it can be read through so quickly. Oliver is a master at her craft, and now documents the transitions of her writings from earthy origins to that which lies beyond the earth. Very deep indeed. Delightful!

Beautiful as always with moments of lucid and gentle wisdom.
