Interesting and well written memoir about one woman's journey though life and various houses and how and why she and her husband decide to build and live in a small house (480 sq. ft.). She looks at the tiny house movement and the "living large" philosophy. She weaves in stories of other people who live in tiny houses and how and why it worked, or didn't work for them. This is more of a practical guide to help you decide if this might be a good idea for you, and gives you questions to ask yourself about how you want to live, where and why. Do you really need so much stuff? What are your priorities? She gives practical advice about choosing land, the pitfalls of ordinances and lots of advice about the realities of moving to rural area if you've never lived in one before such as don't let your dog out at night if there are mountain lions around and how to make friend in a small town where you'll be seen as an outsider no matter how long you stay.
