Pretty typical Ritchie fare, neither lead seemed to take things very seriously which works since neither is a very good actor. The whole thing sets up a follow on which would be a mistake. Had to watch it twice as I fell asleep in the middle the first time-not a good recommendation for an "action" movie

This film version of the 1960s TV show is almost all tongue-in-cheek. I like Guy Ritchie movies. I think he is a better director than he gets credit for. Henry Cavill, a.k.a., Superman, is good as Napoleon Solo, and so is Arnie Hammer as Illya Kuryakin. I actually laughed a few times.

Not as bad as I had seen in some reviews. Tried a little hard to be cool/witty/bond-like (I guess similar to the original?). Didn't see some of the twists. Decent action/dialogue. In all not bad

I had almost no interest in this because I'm not a fan of Guy Ritchie (aka Madonna's ex) or films based on TV shows. This low expectations were key to the enjoyment of this frivolous, but stylish film. Based on the 1960s show starring Robert Vaughn and David McCallum as agents on opposite sides (American and Russian) during the Cold War, the film wisely retains the 1960s setting and dives into the fashion, design, and cars of the period, which is the film's main selling point. "It's Mad Men meets James Bond!" was probably the pitch. A good cast helps too: Armie Hammer (stoic, but he's supposed to be), Henry "Superman" Cavill (dull, but looks good in a suit), Alicia Vikander (better than the material, but game), Elizabeth Debicki (great as the villain), Jared Harris, and the always charming Hugh Grant. Don't expect much, but it's a fun popcorn movie and a little better than its reviews (and whatever "Mission: Impossible" is currently in the theater).

Rated 7/10. This was not a fantastic movie, but certainly watchable enough to keep me entertained. The plot was a bit thin.

Those of us who watched the TV series may find this a little disappointing, as it is quite different, much like the remake of the Hawaii 5-O series.

Overall, I think this is worthy of a sequel, which apparently is in the works. This does not guarantee, of course, that it will make it to the screen.

Boring buddy movie without redeeming action.

An underrated, campy 60's action spy movie. I like to compare it to the animated series Archer, but without as much comedy.

This movie was funny. Besides the immoral/sexual content, it is worth a watch.

Loved this movie! It has such comedic moments blended in with the action. I've seen it several times and never get tired of it!

(The two agents debate about what to do with the mad scientist whom they trapped in his own electric chair for interrogation. They turn around when they smell something burning and notice the brightness of the fire in the room they left to deliberate in. After realizing the person the need alive has burned in a fire in the other room)

Kuryakin: "He fixed the glitch."
Solo: "Damn, I left my jacket in that room."

(They watch the fire burn)

Kuryakin: I was briefed on your criminal career. Your balls are on the end of a very long leash, held by a very short man.
Solo: I wonder if it was your father's shame that gave you such drive... Or was it your mother's reputation? I understand that she was extremely popular amongst your father's friends...
