Although this drama turns out quite powerful and uplifting, it would become much much better without Jesus. Not many people like religious teaching and preaching, which should be done ONLY in church---definitely NOT in an entertaining movie, I believe.
Jesus does not want to see it in a movie, neither...:-) especially under the above title.

Not my kind of movie. 15-30 minutes enough. Kendrick brothers could not hold my interest.

I loved this movie! Inspirational, wholesome, honest, good for the whole family. Makes you feel good at the end and take a look at your own life to evaluate just how much you are in the driver's seat and don't actually let God take the wheel. Release the anger and let God take control :)

This movie was "okay", good but not great.

This one was a bit too sanitized and preachy for my tastes.

War Room has something to offend everyone, especially women, the elderly, African Americans, and Christians -- whom I simply can't believe want to be portrayed in this way. The four groups are embodied in the character of Miss Clara, a cutsey Wise Black Woman who would be rejected as a racial stereotype in the 1950s -- she supposedly lost her husband in the Vietnam War, not the Civil War. Miss Clara's advice to heroine Elizabeth (Priscilla Shirer, an inexperienced actress who gives a sincere performance) is simple: shut up, pray, submit to your man, rant at Satan occasionally, and all will be well. Everyone will have a favourite scene: the double-dutch competition, a white man telling a black man to do a back flip for him, the running joke about how Elizabeth's feet smell. Mine is the one in which God, to prevent Elizabeth's abusive horn dog husband from having an affair, causes him to vomit. I feel you, man.

Another well-dome Kendrick brothers movie about husband-wife relationships. You do have to fight to keep a marriage going. If you like Christian-based film, you should check this (and others like Courageous) out.

LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!! It definitely proves the power of prayer and the power of the name of Jesus. Bravo!!!!! Prayer and the name of Jesus are the most powerful weapons.

James 5:15-16
And the prayer offered IN FAITH will make the sick person well; the LORD will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to each other (and God) and pray for each other so you may be healed. The prayer of the righteous man is powerful and effective.

Elizabeth: If there’s one thing we do well, it’s fight.
Miss Clara: No, I don’t think you do. Just because you argue a lot doesn’t mean you fight well. I bet you never feel like you’ve won.

A marriage on the brink:
Mike: Dude, what's up with you and Liz?
Tony: Nothing.
Mike: Nothing? Look at you getting all uptight. You got extra veins popping out that wasn't even there before.
Tony: Mike, I'm just tired of her. Okay? All right? I said it. I'm just tired of her junk.
Mike: Her junk? Dude, you married her, junk and all. It's not some sort of buffet where you
get to pick and choose what you want. You get all of her, bro. And you better not have somebody on the side.
Tony: So, you're trying to do CPR on my personal life now?
Mike: Okay. Yeah, I'm a paramedic. But I'm also a Christian, which means I help people while I'm helping people.
Tony: Mike, look, we've been friends for a long time, but some things are just none of your business.
Mike: True, and since we've been friends a long time, I'm not just gonna watch your marriage die. So if it's bleeding, I'm not gonna keep eating my salad.

Liz: So, you know, I'm praying for God to fight for me 'cause I am just sick of losing. But not against God. I need to lose against God. I'm sick of losing in other areas where I'm just fighting but I just keep losing all the time. It's exhausting. So I'm learning how not to fight God and how to let Him fight for me so that we can all win. Does that make any sense?

On Grace p1 of 2:
Clara: So he needs grace.
Liz: Grace? I don't know that he deserves grace.
Clara: Do you deserve grace?
Liz: Ms. Clara, you have a habit of backing me up in a corner and making me squirm.
Clara: I felt the same way. But the question still remains. Do you deserve grace? The Bible says that no one is righteous, not even one. For we have all sinned. So, really, none of us deserve grace. But we all still want God's forgiveness. Elizabeth, it comes down to this. Jesus shed his blood on the cross. He died for you. Even when you did not deserve it. And He rose from the grave and offers forgiveness and salvation for anyone who turns to Him. But the Bible also says that we can't ask Him to forgive us while refusing to forgive others.

On Grace p2 of 2:
Liz: I know, Ms. Clara. But that's just so hard to do.
Clara: Yes, it is. Yes, it is. But that's where grace comes in! He gives us grace! And He helps us to give it to others, even when they don't deserve it. We all deserve judgment.
And that is what a holy God gives us when we don't repent and believe in His Son. ... Elizabeth, there's not room for you and God on the throne of your heart. It's either Him or it's you. You need to step down. Now, if you want victory, you're gonna have to first surrender. ... God is a good defense attorney. Trust it to Him.

Clara: War. It's been a part of humanity in every age. We fight for power, for riches, for rights or for freedom. There always seems to be something to fight for. But one thing has remained true of every war. Behind the field of battle, someone has developed a strategy. ... I find myself amazed that of the many battles we engage in today, be it money, control or matters of the heart, very few of us know how to fight the right way, or understand who we're really fighting against. To win any battle, you've got to have the right strategy and resources, because victories don't come by accident.
