Add a Quote"It all counts and the bottom line is, what defines you isn't how many times you crash, but the number of times you get back on the bike. As long as it's one more, you're all good."
“Maybe the truth was, it shouldn’t be easy to be amazing. Then everything would be. It’s the things you fight for and struggle with before earning that have the greatest worth. When something’s difficult to come by, you’ll do that much more to make sure it’s even harder –if not impossible – to lose.” (pg.299)
Summary
Add a SummaryThe back:
Riding a bike is only one of the many things Auden's missed out on. Even before her parents divorce, she was cast in the role of little adult, never making waves, focusing on academics to please her demanding mother.
Now she's spending the summer before college in the tiny beach town of Colby with her father and his new wife and baby. A job in a trendy boutique introduces her to the world of girls, their friendships, conversations, romances. And then there's Eli, an intriguing loner. A former star on the bike circuit and a fellow insomniac, Eli introduces Auden to the nocturnal world of Colby. Together they embark on a quest: for Auden, to experience the carefree teenage life she's been denied; for Eli, to put a tragic episode behind him. Combine two lonely people with a charming beach town and endless supply of long sumer nights, and just about anything can happen.
Auden West breaks up with her boyfriend Jason because he thinks she's not taking enough dedication to his library job, and because she disclosed an email with I love you. She than moves in with her Dad, step mom Heidi and newborn little Sister Thisbe. Where she is thrown into the world of Girls, Boys, Jealous Ex's, Biking, A quest for her childhood back, and Romance. Will she end up with Eli?

Comment
Add a Commentthis book was amazing teaches you that no matter how times you fail or mess up to get back on the bike, such a great story loved Auden and Eli, Maggie too and Isby awhhh the characters were great well a few got on my nerves but still good story deserves to be read
I, at first, didn't really get the reference to "What Happened to Goodbye". Or I think that's what it said in this book. But I guess the location must be connected somehow. Once again, this amazing author has spun together a real relationship, in the form of a young adult story. The characters contrast against each other and fit in all the right places to let the story flow, in the best way it can. I really don't know why a bunch of people just assume all of Sarah's books are "those books all about girls, relationships, and guys." Truthfully, they are all unique in the ideas, and the creativity really does flow nicely when you look for it. 5/5 Stars

I didn't hate it but I didn't love it. I was somewhat cliche and predictable, a lot like her other novel This Lullaby. I enjoyed it in the end.
really good book <3
I really enjoyed reading Sarah Dessen's books, and this one is probably my favourite.
Defiantly recommend reading this book, and other Sarah Dessen books too.

Its so romantic....Its perfect
I was a fan of Sara dessens books when I was in high school and I found im still a fan as an adult. I loved Eli's character as well as Audens. Their character development was well done and kept me wanting to know more about them. Lovely book.
I love Sarah Dessen's books because they're romance books but they have this deepness to them that I sometimes can't find in teen love stories. This particular book is one of my favourites by her and one that I keep thinking about years after I read it.
The narrator seemed authentic; however, I'm personally not a huge YA reader and I preferred Keeping the Moon over this particular book.
Amazing book once again!! Dessen has become my favorite author and this book was definitely up to her standards!
Really good!! I really like auden!
A must read!
