Not worth it.

A very well done movie with impressive acting. The subject is informative, but I can't say I'm a fan of Ray Kroc after watching this.

Directed by John Lee Hancock and originally released as a motion picture in 2016, this 115-minute docudrama depicts the business life of Ray Kroc.
He says that the keyword of success is persistence.
It is interesting.
Everybody knows the word, but practising it and actually getting there seems quite difficult.

This is a great film featuring an amazing performance by Michael Keaton as Ray Kroc, "the founder" of fast-food behemoth McDonald's. The viewer comes away with a keener appreciation of the bizarre, vicious underpinning of our capitalist society. Kroc was a devotee of Norman Vincent Peal's THE POWER OF POSITIVE THINKING, which allowed him to paper over the widely practiced immorality of the American businessman, captured in the infamous Kroc quote: “It’s dog eat dog, rat eat rat. If my competitor were drowning, I’d walk over and put a hose right in his mouth.” The Weinstein Company makes reliably good movies.

An interesting story about what is, for many, the American Dream. Ray Kroc is persistent & this film demonstrates the consequences of his persistence. The dates & times are not always clear, & they fail to mention the IPO in 1965; presumably the entire film takes place before this important event. Keaton does a believable portrayal of Kroc, & the McDonald brothers legitimately gain sympathy from the viewer as they are steamrolled by Kroc's energy & persistence. Kroc's self-help record is actually a mash up of the power of positive thinking & a speech by Calvin Coolidge.

Ruthless but that is what it takes to become a corporation. You can't become a billionaire by being a nice guy. One line in the movie particularly stayed with me. The main character said, 'I'm the type of person that if I see a person drowning I would put a hose in his mouth.' Based on the history of the 'founder' there is no doubt why their workers make the bare minimum to survive.

I think of this movie everytime I go into a McDonalds now. I have great disdain for Kroc and respect the McDonalds brothers for their ingeuity. A great film, well presented, interesting and did make me reflect on many different ideas after watching it.

Very well done for a horrifying story.

Interesting movie-it deals with the complexities and morality of American corporate life versus " the American Dream ". I'd say it offers up some valuable perspectives.
