Meh. I read this book because, although I also find them too violent, I enjoy the cardinal series. This book I didn't enjoy. The main characters weren't relatable to me and there was too much sex and the crime too violent.

After reading a certain number of pages, you can safely assume how all will end. Predictable. But despite this, is it still interesting read. Although, as always, a lot of not necessary disturbing scenes, mostly about sex. Obsession, childhood drama that is affecting adulthood, depression - it seems that, lately, those are predominant topics for contemporary authors. It is not clear what is a purpose of Molly character, as well a sudden disappearance of it.

Plot was a bit predictable, but I did enjoy reading this book. The plot is dark. Got one of Blunt's Detective Cardinal books to see if I enjoy his crime solving writing

Of all Giles Blunt's books this has to be the worst.

It is a very different book and you keep thinking about it after you are finished. A bit disturbing and there is certainly questioning about a lot of things in life.
