This is really a good series. I can't say that season 4 is better than 1,2, or 3 because frankly I don't remember the details of those seasons. I do remember that they were good and that I was looking forward to series 4. I look forward to a series 5 and hopefully more after that. While this story ended, it was left to where more series can be made if they decide to go further. Some other notes: 1.Thandie Newton did such a great job being unlikable in her role that I am not sure I will ever like her in future roles; 2. It was interesting to see how Lee Ingleby has matured since his George Gently days; 3. While I completely understand this is fiction, it was nice to see unethical and crooked cops get theirs. This does not happen often enough in real life. Reference the overturned convictions based on fabricated evidence or never-disclosed evidence that would have worked in the defenses favor and in which rarely is anyone ever held accountable for the years an innocent person spent in prison. And I say again, yes, I know this is fiction.

I also advise that if you have not seen series 1-3 that you watch those before watching this one. It will be worth your time.

The best in the series so far. I did not twig who the bad guy was until the very end. Very compelling, acting is superb & very matter of fact, not like US crime shows, no grandstanding. if you enjoy crime stories u will like this series.

Wow.... this is probably the best of the series, thus far, complete with cliff-hangers that leave both of us saying 'what the ....?' Excellent work by writers, plotters, actors, etc.

Excellent series. AC-12 (anticorruption) investigates the police, the police investigate crimes and one never knows who is bent and who is not. Keeps you on the edge of your seat!

Since its inception five years ago, this BBC series has consistently proved to be the best police procedural around. All of the principals do good work, but Thandie Newton dominates season 4 just as Keeley Hawes did in season 2. But the biggest stars are Jed Mercurio's complex and intelligent screenplays. As in the previous series, the outstanding moments here are the face-to-face interviews at AC-12's headquarters, which are riveting intellectual duels with twists and turns that leave you breathless. Full marks. (By the way, the OPL's subject headings are a bit off: although the location is not explicitly mentioned in the episodes, it is certainly not London. Rather, it's supposed to be a 'generic' Midlands city, probably Birmingham, though the credits suggest it was actually shot in Northern Ireland.)
