I don't have all the bells/whistles for cable, so I'm glad to have a library system that offers DVDs. For me this was painfully slow to begin, I nearly shut it off during the first 2 hours until it began to intrigue me. Having know too many of those narcissistic, self-important, blowhards, it was painful watching Sharon Stone perform her magic interpretation. Having know way too many drinkers I'm glad I didn't have to endure long acting on this issue. Needless to say, raging drinkers do blackout & have no control, so the bit of info from a specialist that explains what happens to the brain on alcohol was noteworthy. This info will make no difference to the continued use of alcohol on idiot behavior.

Greed, power of the greedy. Well acted by the local law guy of a little town (forget his name) a role he normally does not play - impressed with his impression. Glad I stuck with it.

Have a few hours to kill? watch paint dry. Slow, pretentious, patronizing, talky; not one second of real passion; like an extended acting exercise.
P.S. Hedlund is wasted.

Hard to understand what was going on. Scenes change abruptly and new characters appear. I guess it all comes to a point eventually, but I didn’t find out.

Plodding, overthought, artificial. The only redemption here is Paul Reubens, delivering a refreshingly buoyant and critically observant character.

Somewhat similar to The Affair: the viewer sees scenes more than once from different character's point of view. This series has a documentary-like style, and the acting is excellent. Recommended.
